HP Min. Vikramaditya may skip, first cabinet meeting: Family marriage or Court hearing?

Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department Minister Vikramaditya Singh may skip a historical and very crucial first meeting of the council of ministers to be convened by the Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu tomorrow. Though the absence of the youngest minister on January 13, has been stated as a family marriage in Jaipur, Rajasthan, however it could also be a hearing of a court case pending at Udaipur in a family dispute matter with his wife Sudershana Chandawat.

The CoMs meeting was being watched keenly not only by employees of the state but even by employees of other states as announcement of OPS figured in Congress party manifesto along with ten guarantees which includes provision of NPS and provision of monthly assistance of Rs 1500 to all non-employed women between age group of 18 to 60 and free power upto 300 units to all house holds.
The decision is far awaited by lakhs of government employees and beneficiaries, and was an important promise in the Congress manifesto which sailed the party to power in the hill state. Yet, the young first time minister is missing the occasion, becomes a matter of speculation amidst political critics.
This morning the minister, shared a note on social media stating that ,” I am in New Delhi and will be travelling to Rajasthan than tomorrow i.e 13th January for a family function hence will not be able to attend Cabinet meeting slated for 13 January at Shimla,”. Adding,” Hon’ble Chief Minister has been apprised about the same.”

However, it was also indicated as per information uploaded in the court website that on January 13 i.e tomorrow, the hearing of the court case filed by his wife Sudarshan Chandawat is listed for hearing in the Udaipur 14 ACJM- 2 court for Cognizance / issuance of Process/ Service in the matter.
It is worthwhile to mention that a family maintenance case was registered against Congress minister by his estranged wife Sudarshana Chundawa which is also listed for hearing tomorrow and coinciding with date of CoMs meeting before the ACJM court Udaipur ( CR . Misc. CASES-CR. MISC 35386/2022 11081/2022). However Minister did not reveal any thing about his court engagement tomorrow.
The matter is of domestic violence under section 12 of the act.
