Shimla, Apr 3,
Firebrand Sukhu Government minister Jagat Singh Negi today accused the BJP of taking hostage the three independent MLAs and the six disqualified Congress MLAs. In a fiery accusation, Negi has vehemently criticized the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) for its alleged attempts to destabilize the state government. Negi, addressing recent political developments, in a media conference has shed light on what he describes as the BJP’s relentless pursuit to undermine the democratic process.
Negi has brought to attention the BJP’s pressure building tactics over the resignations of three independent legislators. He has lodged a formal complaint with the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, citing concerns over the BJP’s coercion and enticement tactics aimed at these legislators. This move, Negi asserts, is a blatant disregard for democratic principles and ethical governance.
Moreover, Negi has underscored the meticulous documentation provided in his complaint, which chronicles the purported 30-day period leading up to the resignations. During this time, he alleges, the independent legislators were allegedly accommodated in a luxurious five-star hotel under BJP’s surveillance, flown in helicopters, and subjected to close monitoring in Delhi and Rishikesh by BJP operatives.
The involvement of the state Governor in this matter, as claimed by Negi, further exacerbates the situation. He accuses the BJP of exerting undue pressure on the Governor to accept the resignations of these independent legislators, thereby compromising the integrity of the state’s political landscape.
Negi has not stopped at mere accusations; he has also highlighted the broader implications of the BJP’s actions. He condemns what he perceives as the BJP’s systematic attempts to derail developmental projects crucial for the state’s progress.
Negi cautions that if such practices are allowed to persist, the Nation risks regressing into tyranny, threatening the very fabric of democracy.
