Shimla, Aug 19,
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Shimla has issued a heavy rain alert for several districts in Himachal Pradesh. The alert predicts medium-intensity rainfall over the next 12 hours, primarily affecting the districts of Bilaspur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kullu, and Mandi.
Residents of these areas should prepare for moderate rain, accompanied by lightning, thunder, and heavy rain at isolated locations. Additionally, light rain is expected in many parts of Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan, and Una.
The IMD has warned that the weather conditions could lead to localized disruptions. The affected districts include Bilaspur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan, and Una
Citizens are advised to stay updated with the latest weather reports and take necessary precautions.
Noteworthy that so far in August the state has received 190.9 mm rain, which is 7% percent more rain than normal of 178.4 mm, till date.
However on the contrary the overall monsoon rain is still deficient by 22 percent. Whereby the State has received 418 mm rain till date against a normal of 535.4 mm.
