
Shimla, April 25, Ahead of the proposed visit of the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, security has been significantly intensified in Shimla, with the Himachal Pradesh Police adopting a strict “Zero Error” approach to ensure a seamless and secure programme.
A comprehensive security briefing was conducted for all deployed personnel, during which Director General of Police Ashok Tiwari (IPS) emphasized unwavering vigilance, integrity, and professionalism. He stated that policing during such a high-profile visit demands precision, accountability, and absolute adherence to duty, with no room for negligence or complacency.
Senior officers, including the Superintendent of Police, Shimla, and the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Southern Range, issued detailed operational guidelines. They stressed the importance of real-time coordination, effective communication among field units, and meticulous enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Officials highlighted that the visit offers an opportunity to showcase the discipline and preparedness of the state police at the national level. Personnel were instructed to maintain a courteous and people-friendly approach while ensuring strict security compliance.
The DGP directed officers to remain mission-focused, proactive, and prepared for contingencies, with quick response mechanisms in place for any emergency. The DIG noted that the force’s performance would be closely observed and urged officers to lead from the front.
Reaffirming its commitment, the police said all arrangements are being fine-tuned to ensure the President’s visit is conducted in a secure, smooth, and well-coordinated manner.
