Approximately 65 per cent turnout was recorded in elections for the four municipal corporations, new seven Nagar Panchayats’ and many Gram Panchayat poll in three developmental block of Shimla and Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday, said a state election official.
State Election Commission report said that 65 per cent polling was recorded in Dharamshala, Mandi, Solan and Palampur MCs as 92151 people used their franchise .
Results are expected later tonight as counting of votes is underway after the voting for these MC from 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs.
The highest 69.20 percent (20387votes) in Mandi, followed by 68.8 p c (22910) polling was recorded in Palampur, 60.40 p c (22,017) in Solan and 62.7 pc (24578 ) in Dharamshala MC.
78.15 percent voting was registered in Nagar Panchayat Kandaghat while 60.40p c was registered in Municipal Corporation Solan.
