Including National Highway-3 and 707 as many as 109 roads are blocked in the state stranding 221 tourists and locals in different parts of the state because of rain related incidents. There is report of death of one person and 11 injured in separate road mishaps.
Highways disrupted
Report coming from Sirmaur said that Hatkoti-Gumma-Shilai-Poanta National highway was blocked after a massive landslide at Kalli khan near Barwas under Kamrau Tehsil. Vehicular traffic is diverted via other link road to keep vehicular traffic restored.
National highway 21 was blocked between Mandi to Kullu road nearly Seven miles around Pandoh at 0811 hrs on Friday. Though traffic is allowed on single lane, here.
Tourists and locals stranded
There are report that 221 tourists are stranded in various part of state due to closing of road and landslide Among those stranded in the state 191 are locals, 13 from Punjab, four from New Delhi, three each from Maharashtra and Odisha two each from UP and Harayana, and one each from Jharkhand, Karnataka, Ladakh.
204 people are stranded in Lahaul Spiti district as 35 tourists and 25 local and labour are stranded in between Shansha to Junda. These 60 people were rescued as they had to cross the Shansha Nullah by help of temporary ladder bridge made by police and fire team.
Under Udaipur subdivision 51 people are stranded at Thiro, 21- in Udaipur and 72 in Triloknath.
In all the places the stranded are being provided temporary arrangement food and lodging and shelter in rest houses as per availability.
Road Mishaps
One died and nine injured in the road accident occurred on Thursday afternoon at Tikrri under Haripurdhar area of Sirmaur when one Mahindra Max fell down in deep Gorge carrying ten people. Deceased identified as Jyanti Devi wife of Jalam Singh. Nine persons including five women were hospitalized at Sangrah civil hospital.
A report arriving here said that a Kuthar bus service under Udaipur subdivision met with accident at Tindi at 0700 hrs on Friday morning. Two person sustained injuries who are hospitalized at Udaipur hospital.
A car bearing Delhi number was hit by a boulder at National Highway near Soghi at Sonu Mangala rest house, an ambulance was rushed to hospitalized the injured.
Water schemes disrupted
Around 6 water supply schemes are disrupted in the state including 53 in Lahaul Spiti,eight in Shimla five in Rampur and three in Rohru, two in Dalhousie and one in Paonta Sahib.
Rainfall
Mandi had highest 98 mm rainfall in the state till this morning followed by Pontasahib 74 mm and 44 mm in Dharmshala.
