In a ironic twist Chetan Bragta, son of Former MLA Narindra Bragta was expelled from the party for fighting Election against party Official candidate, BJP state president Suresh Kashyap said in a press statement issued here today.
Narindra Bragta who was two time Minister and three times ruling BJP MLA from Jubbal Kotkhai Assembly constituency died recently after fighting post Covid illness however party senior leader today decided to not give party ticket to his elder Son Chetan Bragta, party state IT Cell Chief recently.
After which Junior Bragta revolted and decided to fight the bye election as an Independent candidate and stating of being cheated by the saffron party. He also attributed this decision to the pressure of his Supporter.
On the last date of withdrawal of nomination his denial from the same may have instigated the ruling to take such a hard step against him.
It is pertinent to mention that senior Bragta was a towering leader of BJP in the hills who is known for setting up party base in Congress bastion of Jubbal Kotkhai Assembly.
Election Commission today alloted Apple as Election symbol of Chetan Bragta today after which party was compel to take action against him.
BJP have fielded a former Zila Parishad member Neelam Saraik as the official candidate on this seat who is locked in a triangular contest now.
