In wake of upcoming X-mass and New years tourists rush in the state and reported incidences of discovery of new Covid variant in the world, the State Health authority have issued a alert for CMOs to flip-up Corona testing.
Principal Secretary Health Subhashish Panda convened video conference with state medical officers and Chief Medical officers to review the preparedness to deal with the emergent Corona upsurge on Thursday. During the meeting an alert has been issued regarding Corona in the state for pre-emptively countering the possibility of increase in cases of Corona.
Panda directed the CMOs to start working on RTPCR test instead of RAT testing. Corona samples of tourists and local people should be taken through public transport HRTC. At the same time, it may be mandatory for people to have a precautionary dose of Covid vaccine.
The Principal Secretary also appealed to people to adopt Covid appropriate behaviour and maintain social distancing norms in public places. Instructions were also given to the hospitals administration to revamp oxygen beds, ventilator beds and manpower for any eminent spurt of cases.
The state government officer, however informed, that currently, the situation is under control in the state. The number of active cases of corona here are 19. On Wednesday three new cases of corona have come fore in the state. Four patients have recovered from the infection.

State health department has directed the testing labs to ensure that those who have returned from abroad and tested positive, their genome sequencing should be done. With expected sudden surge in the tourists due to new year, the state administration could issued separate advisory to enforce the mandatory use of masks again.
Panda informed that corona has once again started spreading rapidly in many countries of the world. Covid cases are continuously increasing in America, Japan, China, Korea and Brazil. In these circumstances, the Central government has also sounded alert. He said that state health authority have been alerted by the Central government to be prepared for another wave of covid pandemic.
