Mahatma Gandhi Regional Hospital Khenri at Rampur in Shimla district has ordered investigation of the death of a six yrs old baby. It is being alleged that the little one was administered a injection whereafter the victim died after three days after hospitalization.
Dr. Padam Sharma, Medical Superintendent of MGRH Khaneri said that a committee would be constitued soon to start the investigation. According police information, Semal Singh, a resident of Kanai village of Sangla tehsil in Kinnaur district, has given a complaint alleging that his son Arindam was being treated for cough.
The father of the deceased alleged that the condition of the victim deteriorated after a nurse administerated a wrong injection during treatment at Khaneri Hospital. He started bleeding from the mouth. Thereafter was referred to IGMC Shimla. Arindam was admitted in ICU at IGMC.
On February 6 the doctor declared him dead. After performing the last rites, a complaint was lodged at the Rampur police station.
In the matter, action has been demanded by registering a case under section 304 of IPC against the staff nurse who was on duty in Ward No. 68 of Khaneri Hospital on February 3.
DSP Chandra Shekhar confirmed the matter. Rampur police station has registered a case on the basis of complaint and started investigation.
