Two Haryana Youth detained for publically assaulting a driver of an Volvo bus near Kachighati on the outskirts of on Sunday morning after a dispute over overtaking, police said.
According to police, the Volvo bus was on its way from Delhi to Shimla when it overtook a Scorpio bearing an Haryana registration number near Kachighati. Enraged over the incident, some occupants of the Scorpio allegedly intercepted the bus and assaulted the driver on the roadside, creating panic among passengers.
On receiving information, a team from led by personnel of rushed to the spot and acted swiftly to control the situation. Police apprehended two accused at the scene itself.Police identified the accused as Pankaj, son of Shiv Kumar, a resident of Panchkula, aged 33, and Vikas Kumar, son of Vilakshan Ram, also a resident of Panchkula, aged 22.

An FIR has been registered against them under various serious provisions of the Indian Penal Code, and both have been formally arrested.Police said that further investigation into the case is underway and the role of other persons involved in the incident is also being examined.
Shimla Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and said strict legal action would be taken against those involved in violence against public service personnel.
