FIR filed over Congress protest against Kangana in Kaza

An FIR has been registered on the complaint given by the BJP to the Election Commission after allegedly Congress workers waved black flags at BJP’s Mandi parliamentary seat candidate Kangana Ranaut at the sub-divisional headquarters Kaza on Tuesday. The District Election Officer has also issued a notice to the Congress Party regarding this matter.
On behalf of the State Chief Electoral Officer, instructions were issued to the District Election Officer Lahaul-Spiti to investigate the matter. The Lahaul-Spiti District Election Officer sent his report regarding this matter to the State Election Department on Tuesday.
It is noteworthy that on Monday when, Kangana had reached Kaza of Lahaul-Spiti for an election campaign. It was alleged that Congress workers raised slogans of “Kangana Go Back.”
At the same time, Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur and BJP candidate from Lahaul-Spiti Ravi Thakur have alleged that Congress workers pelted stones at them and that some BJP workers were injured.
On the other hand, in the report sent by the District Election Officer, it has been said that there is no evidence available regarding stone pelting. Chief Electoral Officer Himachal Pradesh Manish Garg said that instructions for investigation were given on the complaint of BJP.
DSP Keylong confirmed in a media statement that a complaint has been received through the legal cell of BJP as well as the District Election Officer, adding that due investigation is being conducted in the matter.
