A devastating fire engulfed a residence in Pirdi Village, Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh, this morning, reducing the second floor of the house to ashes. The estimated loss from the blaze exceeds Rs 40 lakh.
The fire erupted suddenly at approximately 9:35 am, triggering a wave of panic throughout the village. Promptly, local residents alerted the fire department about the inferno.
Despite the swift response, by the time fire brigade personnel arrived at the scene, the second floor of the house had been consumed by flames. Intensive efforts by the firefighters managed to contain the fire, preventing its spread to neighboring residences.
The inferno was finally brought under control by 12:15 pm, after hours of arduous work by the fire brigade. As of now, the cause of the fire remains unknown, with investigations underway.
The blaze has inflicted severe damage, with the second floor of the house completely destroyed. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties.
