Fired outsource COVID warriors resentment: Himachal CM addresses concern

Resentment simmering among the unorganized state sector employees who were hired on outsource services as many have been shown the door by the Congress led Government in the State, have stated opposition. While talking about this move CM Sukhwinder Sukhu said on Tuesday at the inauguration of Chief Minister Sukhashraya Yojana that Himachal government would not make such a mistake, which was made by former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, and had to go to jail.
CM Sukhu mentioned that the government is currently reviewing the laws pertaining to terminated outsourced employees, particularly those who were engaged during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic. He acknowledged that even Om Prakash Chautala, while in office, had made errors in dealing with such situations and had faced a 10-year jail sentence as a result. Therefore, the current government will make decisions strictly within the framework of the law.
The Chief Minister said that the laws regarding terminated outsourced employees are being studied. No policy was found for those engaged during the Corona period.
Noteworthy that on September 30, the Himachal government had discharged 1844 Corona warriors and 34 security personnel of IGMC. Since the day the opposition has been attacking Sukhu government on this issue.
A PIL also moved in the Himachal Pradesh High court, wherein the bench of Chief Justice M.S Ramchandra Rao and Justice Jyotsana Rawal Dua did not hear the matter. Chief Justice said that termination of Nurses couldn’t be permitted as a PIL as it is a service matter. On the prayer of petitioner, court allowed to hear the matter after two days on the issue admissibility of PIL.
