Shimla, July 27
The Himachal Pradesh High court adjourned the hearing in the matter pertaining to the quashing of the Shimla Development Plan till July 29. The new SDP was challenged in court after it was notified early this year by the state government. The matter was listed for hearing before the Division bench of Chief Justice A A Sayed and Justice Jyotsana Rawal Dua.
The counsel for the petitioner, Raghav Goel, informed us that the court heard the argument on the petition on Wednesday. The counsel for the state and town and country Planning sought time to seek instructions from the state.
The court adjourned the matter for hearing on July 29. This petition was filed before the high court recently to quash the new Shimla Development Plan stating it is in contravention of the National Green Tribunal order. On May 19, 2022, National Green Tribunal also ordered to stay the SDP terming it illegal and in violation of its early order.
