IMD issues a heavy rain alert till Aug 2

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Shimla has issued a heavy rainfall warning for various districts in Himachal Pradesh. The alert, issued on July 31 at 17:00, forecasts heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places in Bilaspur, Chamba, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan, and Una over the next 36 hours. The warning is valid until August 2, 06:00AM.
Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated with weather advisories.
Though officially unconfirmed but due to heavy rainfall, all educational institutions and Anganwadi centers in Padhar subdivision of Mandi district are closed today, has reportedly stated the DC Mandi in a social media message.
Reports are arriving that the Mehli Junga road has been blocked due to a landslide.
