Himachal Pradesh Government facing public wrath over opening the entry gate of hill state for tourists, are issued notice by State High Court on Friday seeking reply over stay of outside visiting party in state circuit house near Peterhoff, as one of them tested positive for nCoV.
Hearing a public interest litigation lodged by advocate Virender Thakur, notice was issued by a division bench of Chief Justice Lingappa Narayana Swamy and justice Anoop Chitkara to state directing the government to furnish reply within one week of this notice listed matter for hearing on Jul 23, 2020.
Petitioner has alleged that a family on the recommendation of a Government functionary was accommodated in the state Guest house at Chaura Maidan. Wherein a cab driver of the visiting party tested positive for Novel Corona Virus.
The petitioner alleged that the Government had dedicated the said guest house for quarantine purpose of Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital and Deen Dayal Upphadya Hospital COVID warriors. The petition challenged the state decision to allow the guest house for stay of outsiders seeking the judicial probe into the decision. Petitioner demanded to restrain the Government to provide such guest houses to the visiting people from the outside.
It is worthwhile to mention that on Wednesday a family came to Shimla from Delhi which was provided nigh halt at the state guest house at Chaura maidan. Same members of the family were scheduled to meet with the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur during their stay here. The officials have claimed that entire family baring cab driver entered in the state having negative test reports for COVID-19.
After the driver of visiting party tested positive, administration has shifted him in covid care centre Mashobra on outskirt of capital town and the rest of family has been placed in isolation.
Meanwhile the state administration had to work using midnight burner to manage things to pass the order to declare the circuit house as containment zone. After this incident administration has beefed up the vigil on the all drivers of cab, buses and trucks to contain the spreading of pandemic due to similar lapse in future, a official informed.
