Fulfilling one of the budget promise Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government today issued an official Memorandum announcing to pay four Dearness Allowance to the employees of the State Government from the next month. Chief minister presenting year 2024-25 annual budget on February 17 had stated that government would issued notification of DA in month of March as about 12 pc DA is due to employees of the state which likely to paid in three installment.
In a notification issued after the cabinet meeting on Saturday Principle Secretary Finance stated that enhanced Dearness Allowance at the four percent would be granted with effect from April 1, 2024. The government would enhance the existing DA rate from 34 per cent to 38 per cent for the employees and officers of the State Government.
These orders would also be applicable to the officers of All India Services, HP Judicial Services officers and the State Government employees covered by the UGC pay scales. This additional Dearness Allowance shall be paid in cash with the salary of April, 2024 payable in May, 2024 and the arrears accrued from July 1, 2022 onwards should be paid in the manner as may be prescribed on this account by separate orders.
Other terms and conditions as contained in OM of even number dated 3rd January, 2022 shall continue to be applicable. Noteworthy that this the announcement would benefit the 2.66 lakh employees across the state.
