Shimla, July 3,
Himachal Pradesh, famed for its enchanting forests, lush landscapes, and tranquil environment, is ready to captivate tourists with enticing packages for the monsoon and festival seasons. Following a record-breaking summer tourist season, the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) is rolling out substantial discounts to attract visitors during the monsoon, a period when the state’s natural beauty is at its zenith.
Monsoon Packages and Discounts
To invigorate the hotel industry during the typically slow month of July, HPTDC is offering discounts ranging from 20% to 40% at its hotels. This initiative aims to attract tourists seeking a refreshing escape from the humid heat. Private hotels in the capital are also joining the effort, offering discounts of up to 50% on stays and 20% on tour packages.
Despite the current occupancy in HPTDC hotels dropping from 69% to 35% and private hotels experiencing 35% to 40% occupancy, the discounts are expected to rejuvenate the sector. HPTDC’s 45 hotels, including popular destinations like Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, Dalhousie, Kasauli, and Chamba, are part of this initiative. Tourists can easily access the updated rate lists and booking information on HPTDC’s website.
Attractive Offers
The discounts are structured as follows:
20% Discount: Available at tourist inns and hotels such as Rewalsar, Hotel Shrikhand in Sarahan, Jawalamukhi, Chanshal in Rohru, Hotel Sarvari and Silvermoon in Kullu, and others.
30% Discount: Available at locations including Hotel T-Bud in Palampur, Hotel Pinewood in Badog, Holiday Home and Peterhoff in Shimla, Hotel Uhal in Jogindernagar, and more.
40% Discount: Offered at prime locations like Hotel Dhauladhar in Dharamshala, Hotel Hatu in Narkanda, Hotel Palace in Chail, and several others.
Special Exclusions
Notably, no discounts will be available in Chamba and Bharmour during the Minjar fair from July 28 to August 4.
Expectations and Preparations
The tourism industry anticipates a surge in visitors, with preparations already underway to ensure a warm welcome for all tourists. Manu Sood, General Secretary of the Travel Agent Association Shimla, emphasized that these discounts are designed to attract tourists post the pre-monsoon season, aiming for increased tourist movement in the coming days.
Anil Taneja, General Manager of HPTDC, confirmed that discounts would be valid until September 13, providing ample opportunity for tourists to enjoy the monsoon season in Himachal Pradesh.
With these enticing packages, Himachal Pradesh is not only offering a respite from the monsoon heat but also an invitation to experience its unparalleled natural beauty during one of the most picturesque times of the year.
