This incident has prompted the Lahaul-Spiti Police to issue a travel advisory, urging travelers to exercise extreme caution while driving in the region.
Roads in high-altitude areas, particularly in Lahaul-Spiti, are extremely slippery during early morning and late evening hours due to black ice. Driving slowly, maintaining a safe distance from other vehicles, and staying updated on weather and road conditions are essential precautions. The Lahaul-Spiti Police have reiterated that all travelers must follow these guidelines to ensure their safety, as black ice is nearly invisible and can catch drivers off guard, leading to accidents.
