Shimla, Sept 21,
Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, was rushed to the Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, on Saturday morning after experiencing sudden abdominal discomfort.
The medical team at IGMC quickly conducted a series of tests to assess his condition. According to IGMC’s Senior Medical Superintendent, Dr. Rahul Rao, the Chief Minister was brought in for a health check-up after suffering from mild stomach pain.
After thorough examinations, including an ultrasound, doctors found no major concerns, and the results came back normal. However, as a precautionary measure, a blood test was also conducted, with the report expected soon.
Following the consultation, doctors advised Sukhu to rest, and he returned to his official residence at Oak Over in Shimla.
Dr. Rao confirmed that the Chief Minister’s health is stable and improving, stating, “He is resting at home, and there is no cause for concern at this moment.”
This sudden health issue has raised uncertainty over his planned visit to Jammu and Kashmir, where he was expected to campaign for the upcoming assembly elections as the Congress party’s star campaigner.
This isn’t the first time the Chief Minister has experienced health issues. In October 2023, he was diagnosed with an infection and pancreatitis, leading to a week-long hospitalization at AIIMS, Delhi. Earlier in June 2023, he also sought treatment at a private hospital in Chandigarh.
As of now, the IGMC administration has released a health bulletin, confirming that the Chief Minister’s ultrasound reports are normal, and further updates will follow once the blood test results are available.
