In an order issued here the District Magistrate Shimla has issued revised guidelines to allow certain permitted additional activities outside the containment zones in Shimla w.e.f April 20.

As per the order services provided by self employed person i.e electricians, plumbers, IT repairs, motor mechanics and carpenters shall be allowed to work 9 AM to 5 PM. However permission shall be provided by the concerned SDMs. Even construction activities pertaining to roads, irrigation projects, buildings, industrial projects, renewable energy projects etc shall be allowed on permission, and on condition that the labour involved should be locally available with no travel history, stated the order.
Also, the labourers engaged in agricultural/horticultural activities and government schemes like MNREGA will be ensured to be screened by medical teams. It will be the responsibility of the person engaging the laborers to report to BMO to get them screened,” clarified the order.
The offices of Center government in Shimla shall work with a bare minimum strength of not more than 33%. “
