Shimla, Sept 28,
Looked upon as a relief for Himachal Pradesh government employees, the state government has announced that salaries for the month of September will be paid on October 1, and pensions will be disbursed on October 9. A government spokesperson confirmed this decision on Saturday, explaining that it follows a review of the state’s cash flow by the finance department.
Previously, salaries for August were delayed until September 5, with pensions distributed on September 10. The state government clarified that the delayed payments were part of its strategy to manage financial resources judiciously.
Efforts are being made to reduce the imbalance between government receipts and expenditures, ensuring timely loans and minimizing interest costs. Earlier, on September 4, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu informed the Assembly that the government would reassess the financial situation before making further decisions on salary disbursement.
