According to the notification, applicants will have to book the rooms online through the Himatithi portal (himatithi.nic.in). The online booking window will open three days before the intended date of stay.
The booking will be confirmed only after receipt of the full room tariff in advance, with payment to be made through net banking, QR Code/UPI or debit/credit card.
The government has also prescribed cancellation conditions. If a confirmed booking is cancelled more than 24 hours before the check-in time, 10 per cent of the advance room tariff would be deducted. However, cancellation within 24 hours of the check-in time, fixed at noon on the date of stay, will result in forfeiture of the entire amount.
In case the General Administration Department cancels a booking, the amount paid will be refunded to the applicant.
The order has come into immediate effect.
