The Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, paving the way for greater academic and research collaboration between the two prestigious institutions.
The MoU was formally signed by Prof. (Dr.) S. Shanthakumar, Director of GNLU, and Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Vice-Chancellor of HPNLU, signifying a shared vision to enhance legal education, research cooperation, and institutional development. Both universities have been recognized for their growing contributions to the field of law. GNLU, a statutory university established under the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003, is recognized by the Bar Council of India and the University Grants Commission. HPNLU, established under the Himachal Pradesh National Law University Act, 2016, has rapidly gained a reputation for academic excellence and intellectual rigor.
This strategic partnership aims to foster academic enrichment and research exposure through the exchange of faculty and students across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes. It also opens avenues for joint research projects, co-authored publications, and collaborative efforts in organizing seminars, conferences, and training programmes. The agreement further includes mutual access to library and academic resources, co-supervision of doctoral research, and the development of interdisciplinary and practice-oriented legal education initiatives.
