HRTC bus crashes into hill in Barsheel of Rohru in Shimla dist, leaving 56 injured

In a tragic incident that occurred today in Barsheel sub-division of Rohru in district Shimla, a Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus crashed into a hill, resulting in numerous injuries. The incident took place at approximately 7 AM, according to authorities at the Chirgaon Police Station.
The HRTC bus was carrying a total of 56 passengers at the time of the accident. Immediate rescue and relief efforts were initiated by the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) in Shimla, ensuring that those injured received prompt medical attention.
Out of the 56 passengers on board, approximately 20 individuals were shifted to Rohru Hospital due to the severity of their injuries. Fortunately, their condition is stable, and they are currently receiving the necessary medical care.
Additionally, 36 passengers sustained minor injuries and were promptly treated at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Sandasu, Chirgaon. After receiving medical treatment, all the injured passengers have been discharged from the CHC.
Further details regarding the specific injuries and identities of the individuals involved in the accident are still being collected from the field. Authorities are working diligently to gather this information and ensure that proper follow-up measures are taken.
The State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) in Shimla is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating efforts to provide necessary support to the affected individuals and their families.
Notably, this is the second HRTC bus accident in 2 days. As another HRTC bus veered down the hill in Karsog area of Mandi district yesterday. In the incident 36 passangers were injured, as the bus got stopped between trees around 300 feet below the road, thus averting a big loss. Though the reasons for both the accidents are yet to be ascertained, but these incident serve as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for heightened vigilance while traveling, especially during adverse weather conditions.
