The Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) and Hospital, Shimla, would remain open on October 11, 2024, even though it is a local holiday for the Dussehra festival.
This comes as part of a decision to ensure medical services are available during the three consecutive holidays from October 11 to October 13.
While October 12 is a general holiday and October 13 is a Sunday, the hospital would continue its regular operations on October 11.
The hospital administration has informed all departments to make the necessary arrangements, ensuring that essential staff and services are available to handle emergencies and routine cases.
The Deputy Medical Superintendent, nursing staff, and clinical departments will be on duty as per the order.
