Shimla, Oct 1,
A major landslide in the Nigulsari area of Kinnaur district has caused the collapse of 70 meters of road on National Highway (NH)-5, bringing traffic to a standstill once again.
The road, which has caved in about three meters wide, has left Kinnaur isolated from other regions. Authorities are working to restore the road by digging into the mountain, with hopes to reopen it by late evening today.
However, this closure has worsened the plight of thousands, particularly farmers and gardeners, whose valuable crops remain stuck in vehicles.
The Old Hindustan-Tibet Road remains disrupted due to the cave-in, adding to the challenges.
