Local Social Media update claims fuel, LPG and Electricity shortages in Spiti
Shimla/Kaza, June 4
A social media post shared by a local resident from Kaza has raised concerns over the availability of essential services in Spiti Valley at a time when tourist arrivals are increasing rapidly.
According to the post, the valley is currently facing shortages of LPG, petrol and diesel, while electricity supply has also been affected. Travelers have been advised to plan their journeys carefully and stay updated on local conditions before entering the remote tribal region.
The post, shared by local resident Lara Tsering, claims that guests are arriving in large numbers even as essential supplies remain under pressure. Photographs accompanying the post show long queues of vehicles in Kaza, apparently linked to the ongoing fuel situation.
While no official statement has yet been issued by the district administration or concerned departments regarding the extent of the shortages, reports and social media updates over the past few weeks have indicated intermittent fuel supply disruptions and long waiting lines at fuel stations in Kaza.
