South West Monsoon system has withdrawn from Himachal Pradesh completely on Wednesday. Compared to normal it has withdraw seven days delay in the state. The Indian Meteorological department said in a press release that today, the southwest Monsoon has withdrawn from the entire Himachal Pradesh.
It said that apart from Himachal Pradesh Monsoon has also withdrawn from entire Jammu & Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi; remaining parts of West Rajasthan; some parts of West Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan.
The line of withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon now passes through 30.8°N/81.2°E, Lakhimpur Kheri, Shivpuri, Kota, Udaipur, Deesa, Surendranagar, Junagarh and 21°N/70°E.
Normaly Monsoon withdraws on September 25, this year was after delay of seven days. South West Monsoon entered in the state on June 27.
During monsoon season State recorded 600.9 mm average rainfall which is 18 per cent below the normal rainfall of 734.4 mm. Despite the shortfall, this amount still classifies the season as normal.
Historically, this ranked as the 97th highest rainfall year out of the last 124 years, with 1922 holding the record for the highest at 1314.6.mm.
In past 24 hrs weather remained mainly dry over the state and average minimum temperatures
were normal and maximum temperatures were above normal.
