Shimla, July 25
The Himachal Pradesh Assembly didn’t record any cross voting in Presidential poll, as reported in a section of media. As per record, out of the 68 Votes caste here, 67 were found valid and one invalid.
The results announced by Election Commission of India indicated that out of the 45 BJP votes polled, President candidate Droupadi Murmu (Elected) got all 45 votes and all six BJP MPs caste their votes in the Parliament.
Out of 23 Opposition MLAs,  candidate Yashwant Sinha got 22 votes therefore one vote was found invalid. No cross voting took place as out of 45 votes caste in favour of NDA candidate, she got 2298 value votes however Opposition got 1122 value votes which shows that no votes was transferred to the NDA candidate from Congress MLAs here.
Value of each MLA Votes in Himachal Pradesh was 51 and value of MP Votes of state was 708.
In the 68 Unicameral assembly, the ruling has strength of 45 MLA (Including 43 BJP and two Independent), Congress 22 and CPI- M one. Out of four Lok Sabha and three Rajayasabha seats,  BJP has six MPs and Congress one.
Congress party spokesperson said that no cross voting took place in the Congress party in Himachal Pradesh. However it is not clear whose votes was found invalid. The party rubbished the claim of cross voting as reported by a section of media.
