Police teams brave snow to rescue 10 tourists in Himachal Pradesh

In a daring rescue operation, police teams successfully evacuated ten tourists who were stranded in snow-affected areas of Lahaul-Spiti and Kullu districts in Himachal Pradesh. According to the state Disaster Management Authority, the rescue operation was launched after information was received about stranded persons in the region.
A police rescue team from Police Station Manikaran successfully evacuated five tourists along with guides who were stuck at Nagaru on the way to Saar Pass. The rescue team had to travel on foot for the whole day in extremely difficult conditions and bad weather, but they were able to reach the stranded tourists and bring them to safety.
The five tourists rescued from Nagaru have been identified as Anshul, a resident of Nashik (Maharashtra), Kaishav, Gaurav, and Ehsaas, all residents of Delhi, and Rajesh Sharma from Panipat (Haryana). All of them are safe and in good health.

In a similar operation, five more tourists were rescued by a police party and safely brought to Kaza. The district administration has been issuing alerts to tourists to avoid such risky trips, but many continue to ignore the warnings and put themselves in danger.
The district administration of Lahaul-Spiti said that they received information from the 112 helpline that some tourists were stuck in snow at Kaumik and needed police assistance. A police party was dispatched to the location, and they found five people stranded there. All of them were rescued and brought to safety.
This rescue operation highlights the dangers of ignoring safety warnings in areas prone to snowfall and bad weather. The authorities have urged tourists to exercise caution and avoid risky trips during the winter season
