The precipitation is likely to increase HP again during the next 48 hrs, stated the weather experts of the IMD. Sharing an update, they added that for the subsequent 3-4 days, heavy rainfall spells are expected in district Kangra, Chamba, Mandi, Kullu, Shimla, and Sirmaur,
Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, the Kangra district of the State received the highest 217.6 mm of rain, wherein Dharamshala recorded 181.5 mm of rain till 0830 hours this morning. Palampur in Kangra also received 85 mm rain. Landslides and shooting stones were reported at a few places in Kangra, and people have been stranded at isolated places in this district.
Keylong in Lahaul & Spiti recorded the lowest temperature of 12.7 degrees, and Paonta Sahib in Sirmour recorded 36 degrees, which was the highest temperature in the past 24 hours.
The weather men have also alerted that similar impacts viz Landslides, flashfloods, cloudburst, rockslides, s sudden increase in water level in rivers, poor visibility and disruption of essential services likely during this period the next 3-4 days therefore adequate safety measures, should be taken.
