RDA IGMC Shimla alters strike strategy, 45-minute pen down& black badges

In a significant development, the Resident Doctors’ Association (RDA) of Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) Shimla has decided to reduce the duration of their ongoing strike as a mark of support for the Joint Action Committee (JAC). The decision came after a meeting with Harswardhan Chauhan, the Industrial, Parliamentary Affairs cum AYUSH Minister, on the evening of May 30.
During the meeting, the Minister addressed the demands put forth by the RDA and assured them that their concerns would be presented to the Chief Minister on June 3. Encouraged by this positive response, the RDA IGMC Shimla has decided to modify their strike strategy.

In a media communiqué they informed that starting from May 31, all interns and residents of IGMC will wear black badges and participate in a pen-down protest for a reduced duration of 45 minutes. This modified strike will continue until June 3 when further course of action will be decided upon. It is important to note that emergency services will be managed effectively during this period to ensure the well-being of patients.
The RDA IGMC Shimla, under the patronage of Dr. Sita Thakur, Principal IGMC Shimla, is led by Dr. Hari Mohan Sharma as the President, supported by Dr. Rohit Chauhan, Dr. Kushal Dogra as Vice Presidents, and Dr. Atish Dipankar as the General Secretary.
The RDA IGMC Shimla remains committed to voicing the concerns and demands of its members, and this modified strike is an expression of solidarity with the JAC. The decision to reduce the strike duration reflects their willingness to engage in constructive dialogue while highlighting the importance of their grievances.
