A shocking case of sexual assault involving a minor has come to light under the jurisdiction of the Bhavnagar police station in Kinnaur district, where a 7-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and assaulted by a 15-year-old boy.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred near the Kalamanch Ground, where the accused lured the victim and took her to an empty room. Upon receiving information, police officials rushed to the scene and shifted the victim to the nearby Community Health Center (CHC), Bhavnagar, where her condition is being closely monitored.
The police have registered a case under relevant sections, including Section 65(2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The police confirmed that the accused has been identified and apprehended.
“The investigation is ongoing, and we are conducting an impartial probe,” said SP Kinnaur Sushil Kumar Sharma.
Authorities are also examining CCTV footage from the area to confirm the sequence of events. The police have urged the public to refrain from spreading rumours on social media and warned that strict action will be taken against those circulating false propaganda.
