Hailstorm, thunderstorm batter Shimla district for Fourth consecutive day

Tourist resort Kufri, Faghu and Mahasu Peak of this district were lashed by thunder and hailstorm on Tuesday as white sheet of hails mounted on the ground , this is continue fourth day when state is witnessing thunder and hail storm occasional heavy downpour diping the mercury by four to five degrees below normal
The sky was mainly overcast since early this morning. Barring Kinnuar and Lahaul Spiti district Yelow warning was issued of widespread rain and thunderstorm. Around 2 pm many areas of Shimla including Chamba, Kullu nad Mandi. Light to moderate rain at few places and light thunderstorm accompanied with lightning hail, gusty wind with 30 to 40 km per hours at isolated places very likely over Kullu, Shimla, Sirmaur , Mandi and solan district in next 24 hrs.
The orange alert was issued by IMD impacting the partial damage to vulnerable structures and huts, Minor or major damage to power and communication lines, Vehicles skidding due to slippery roads and low visibility conditions, Traffic congestion. Essential services and routine outdoor businessess may affect the some time. Damage to plantation, Horticulture and standing crops and may injured people and cattle at open places .
Advisories are issued to people to avid going to vulnerable areas., Stay indoor, close windows and doors and avoid travel if possible . Use hail nets or hails caps in fruit orchards. Unplug electrial or electronic appliances, Keep away from all the abject that conduct electricity and immediately get out of water bodies. Take cover next to a building or under a shelter . Move livestock at safer places , Use handrail where available on outdoor walkway and avoid other elevated areas such as roof without adequate railing. be updated with the weather information and follow advisories issued by the State government.
In past 24 hours Dadahu in Hamirpur recorded 46 mm rain, Renukaji in Sirmaur and Sangrah 30 mm, Baldwara in Mandi 27 mm, Sarahan 25.7 mm, Jaton Barrage 24 mm, Chopal 22mm , Shimla 17 mm, Jubberhati 16.9 mm, Paontasahib and Solan , Kasauli and Pachhad 15 mm each.

Maximum temperature fall by two to ten degrees at many stations during the past 24 hrs and it remained below three to 11 degree normal.
