After a woman staff member of General Post Office Shimla was tested positive for novel CoronaVirus in the state capital town on Sunday other employees lodged protest against the management for not sealing the premises properly.
It is worthwhile to mention here that an employee of GPO Shimla who is resident of Engineghar Sanjauli was tested positive for nCoV on Sunday. The entire premises of the residence of Victim was sealed by the administration however Post office branch at Mall Road was opened up after sanitisation of the office this morning .
Other Employees of the GPO blaming the Himachal Pradesh Postal Circle management lodged protests outside the premises against the decision of management. A employee of India Posts said that staff could not be forced to work in the unsafe environment when their colleague was found positive.
He said that the Post Office was sealed in the Morning but after the intervention of Management it opened up for the General public and forced the employees to work in the vulnerable vicinity. If the premises of victims could be sealed and her neighbors were forced to go in home quarantine, Administration and Management could not force the employees to work under duress.
They charged the management to make them work in the unprotected environment while risking life. India Posts employees are working without proper PPE kits and other safety equipment prescribed for public dealing by WHO, alleged another employee.
This capital town recorded as many as ten cases on Sunday. State reported 91 cases in the state in last 24 hrs total number of nCoV cases to 2725 till today.
