Farmer unions of state opposing Narendra Modi Government on the three farm laws has decided to defeat ruling party in upcoming by-election.
Sayunkt Kisan Morcha and Bhartiya Kisan Union would launch no vote for BJP campaign and appeal to the people of all constituencies so it could no longer harm the interests of the farmers, BKU State President Anender Singh Nauty said in a press conference here today.
Nauty said that Modi govt and BJP have become egoistic and not listening to the concern of the farmers who are agitating since last year. .
“Not only are three agriculture laws anti farmers but the new electricity bill is too anti national.” he said.
BKU National General Secretary Rakesh Tikait would also address farmer’s Rallies in Mandi and Kullu distt in Mandi Parliamentary constituency after the announcement of Bye poll.
In other Vidhan Sabha Constituencies Arki, Jubbal- Kotkhai and Fatehpur where byelections are due in upcoming days other farmer leaders of Sayunkat Kisan Morch will appeal to the voters not to vote for BJP candidates,he added.
Lashing out on Jai Ram Thakur Government he said govt is lying about the minimum support price as there is no policy for procurement of paddy in the state.
Farmers of Himachal took their crops to Haryana but there was no entry for the farmer from Himachal, he said.
Farmers demanded that there should be at least two paddy procurement centers in all paddy producing districts of the state so that farmers of the State can be benefitted.
There are 800 to 1000 crore rupees crops of paddy harvest in the state which are meant to be sold in the market, he said . He said that the prices of apple crops have started to crash since last one week .
He alleged that as Adani is going to open his door to purchase the apple crop from farmers, the market always crashed. Before he started the purchase, apples flooded from his cold stores which were stored there since last year and market crashes. It should be stopped, he said.
The state govt is planning to have a international Airport at Balh area of Mandi distt where very fertile land of farmers are supposed to get acquired for the purpose and farmers are agitating the same, he added.
