Shimla, July 14
The Shimla Municipal Corporation Commissioner lodged an FIR against a businessman for threatening an employee of the Civic body for breach of peace and threat of death and criminal intimidation on Wednesday.
The Spokesperson of district police unit said that a case was registered under section 504 – 506 IPC at Police Station Sadar on the complaint Commissioner MC Shimla Ashish Kohli.
The complaint lodged by MC Shimla said that a shop was allotted to Sohan Lal, Jiwnu Colony, Panthaghati Shimla. The accused gave a cheque of Rs. 15081/- against payment of rent. However due to insufficient funds, the bank returned the cheque. On this the MC employee called Sohan Lal on his mobile for clearance of rent but Sohan Lal, instead, abused him and threatened to death outside the office, wherafter the FIR was lodged by the authority. ASI Puran Chand is investigating the case.
