Shimla, Apr 5
A 5.3 magnitude earthquake jolts snowbound Pangi tribal habitation in Chamba district about 350 km from this capital town, stated Indian Metreological department.
Report arriving said that earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale rocked Pangi tribal station at 2134 hrs on Thursday. The epicenter of earthquake was recorded at Latitude of 33.09 and Longitude of 76.59 and depth of 10 km in the earth. No report loss of life and property was reported.
Due to high magnitude of earthquake people felt in shocks for a few seconds.
Noteworthy that on the same date I.e 4th April in 1905 the Kangra earthquake took place.
