
Shimla, May 6 The Thunderstorm and Windstorm wreaked havoc in many places of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday afternoon uprooting tree and blowing roof tops of Kachha houses.
Seobagh of Kullu witnessed thunderstorm with speed of 37 km pet hour and thunderstorm and lightening also occurred at Shimla, Jubberhati, Sundernagar, Jot and Kangra.
In Jubbal hundreds of apple trees uprooted in by Windstorm. The roofs of Number of Kachha houses or huts are blown away by the windstorm.
Cold conditions tightened their grip over several parts of Himachal Pradesh after fresh rain activity pushed night temperatures sharply below normal, offering tourists a rare May chill across the hill state.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said many stations recorded minimum temperatures 2 to 7 degrees Celsius below seasonal average following intermittent rain and cloudy weather during the past 24 hours.
Tribal areas remained the coldest in the state, with Tabo recording a near-freezing minimum temperature of 0.8 degrees Celsius, while Keylong settled at 3.8 degrees and Kalpa at 5.4 degrees Celsius. Popular tourist destinations also witnessed chilly mornings, with Kufri recording 9.6 degrees, Manali 10.4 degrees and Dalhousie 11 degrees Celsius. Shimla recorded a minimum temperature of 12.8 degrees Celsius, keeping the capital city under cool and misty conditions.
Rainfall activity was mainly concentrated in parts of Sirmaur and Shimla districts. Sangrah emerged as the wettest place in the state with 31 mm rainfall, followed by Shimla with 17.6 mm and Nahan with 13.2 mm rainfall. Thunderstorm and lightning activity was also reported from Shimla, Kangra and adjoining regions.
The weather department has predicted mainly dry weather for the next few days, though isolated rain and snowfall may continue in higher reaches till May 7. Another western disturbance is expected to become active from May 10, which may once again trigger rain, thunderstorm and gusty winds across several districts on May 11 and 12.
According to Indian Metrological department in first week of May state witnessed approximately 200 per cent rainfall which is departure from mainly dry.
