Shimla, Dec 12,
An inquiry into misconduct at the Baba Balak Nath Temple Trust in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, has revealed wrongdoing by two employees, while another has been cleared of similar allegations.
The investigation focused on an incident reported on July 1, 2024, where 50 kilograms each of sugar and wheat flour were issued illegally to a shopkeeper in Deotsidh without proper records.
Pawan Kumar, a canteen helper at Baba Balak Nath Sanskrit College, was accused of negligence. An inquiry led by Tehsildar Barsar confirmed his involvement in the unauthorized transaction. Despite being given a chance to explain himself, his defense was found unsatisfactory.
On December 12, 2024, the Chairman of the Temple Trust announced the punishment. Pawan Kumar’s next two salary increments were withheld for two years without cumulative effect, a penalty recorded in his service book. Pawan accepted the decision, pledging to work with dedication in the future.
Ajay Kumar, a Junior Assistant and Ration Store Keeper at Baba Balak Nath Senior Secondary School, was also implicated in the same case. The inquiry revealed that he failed to maintain proper records and had colluded with Pawan Kumar.
Despite his efforts to defend himself, Ajay Kumar’s explanations were also rejected. On the same day, December 12, 2024, the Chairman announced that his next two increments would also be withheld for two years without cumulative effect.
Manoj Kumar, another Junior Assistant with a clean record, faced suspension on November 11, 2024, due to allegations of misconduct. However, an inquiry into his case was conducted, and the report, submitted by November 25, 2024, found him not guilty.
The Chairman reviewed the findings with the help of a Review Committee and reinstated Manoj Kumar on December 12, 2024. He was reassigned to the Baba Balak Nath Model School in Chakmoh. While relieved to return to work, Manoj Kumar remains under scrutiny as the disciplinary process continues.
The outcomes serve as a reminder of the high standards expected from employees of the Temple Trust.
