Two more bodies recovered today in Samej tragedy search operation, Total five

In the ongoing search operation following the Samej tragedy, two more bodies were recovered from Dogri near Sunni Dam this morning, bringing the total number of deceased found to five. One of the recovered bodies is of a girl, estimated to be between 14 and 17 years old, while the other is of a man whose face is mutilated beyond recognition. This information was provided by Additional Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Verma.
Of the five, bodies includes of three men and two women.
“The girl’s body is in good condition, but the man’s body is severely mutilated and unidentifiable at this stage,” Verma stated. Both bodies have been transported to CHC Sunni for postmortem examinations, and the Kullu administration has been informed.
The search operation is proceeding at a rapid pace, though it remains unclear whether the bodies are from Shimla or Kullu districts. The Samej khad divides the two districts, with 33 people reported missing from Shimla and 3 from Kullu district.
Noteworthy that due to excessive rain at three places Samej (Rampur sub division of Shimla district), Terang (Mandi district) and Bagipul area in Nirmand sub division of Kullu district, on July 31 around 53 people had gone missing.
On Sunday eight bodies were recovered Terang village under Padhar sub division of Mandi district has gone up to 8 as total 10 persons missing here.
DC Mandi Apoorav Devgan said on Sunday, “The bodies of Sonam (23) and three-month’s -old Manvi were recovered from Rajbhan area on Sunday; 8 bodies out of 10 missing persons have been recovered so far and Khudi Devi and Hardev are still missing.”
