Una, Himachal Pradesh witnesses scorching 36.5 degrees, above normal tempratures in the State

Mercury soared to a scorching 36.5 degrees in the town of Una, located in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, according to the local meteorological office on Wednesday. The maximum temperature in the state is reportedly two to three degrees above normal, with Una experiencing its highest temperature of the season so far.
The sudden increase in temperature has resulted in a surge in tourists to the capital town of Shimla, which recorded a temperature of 22.9 degrees, 2.6 degrees above normal. Other areas in the state have also seen an increase in temperatures, with Bhuntar Airport recording 30.6 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnuar at 20.6 degrees (four degrees above normal), and Dharamshala, the abode of Tibetan leader Dalai Lama, recording 28 degrees.
Other areas in Himachal Pradesh have also experienced soaring temperatures, with Nahan recording 30.9 degrees, Keylong at 15.3 degrees, Solan at 29 degrees, Manali at 23 degrees, Bilaspur and Kangra at 32 degrees, Mandi at 32.9 degrees, Hamirpur at 32.8 degrees, Chamba at 31.7 degrees, Dalhousie at 19.5 degrees, Jubberhatti Airport at 26.2 degrees, and tourist resort Kufri and Narakanda at 17 and 17.6 degrees, respectively.
The meteorological office has forecast mainly dry weather in the state over the next 24 hours.
