In 51 Urban Local bodies of Himachal Pradesh going to poll on May 17 registered around 1426 nomination papers with rejection of 32 papers now 1394 candidates remained in the race
In a press released issued by the Secretary of Sate Election Commission Mr Surjeet Singh Rathore stated that 32 nomination paper were rejected during the secrutiny today which include ten papers in Kullu district, nine in Mandi, three each in Bilaspur, Sirmaur and Solan and two in Hamirpr one each in Kangra and Una.
State election commission stated that in 51 urban local bodies poll in the state 1394 candidates paper are accepted before the scrutiny. in Shimla district total 167 candidates remained in the fay,
In Bilaspur 93 candidate are left in the fray, 113 in Chamba, 53 in Hamirpur, 268 in Kangra, 115 in Kullu 205 in Kangra, 167 in Shimla, 89 in Sirmaur, 155 in Solan and 136 in Una,
SEC spokesperson stated that 32 nomination were rejected in the state urban local body , On May 6 is the last date of withdrwal of Nomination. On May 17 the polling would be held in 51 urban local body from 7 am to 3 pm using EVMs.
Six candidates likely to elected unopposed
One nomination each was received at ward number 6 of Nagar Panchayat Banjar in Kullu, Ward number -1 of NP Riwalsar of Mandi district, Ward no-1 of NP Karsog, Ward no-2 and 6 of NP Nerwa in Shimla district.Ward no-2 of NP Chirgaon. With receiving of one nomination in six wards of these NP the election would be announced unopposed tomorrow.

In the five Urban Local Bodies of Solan district around as many as 155 candidates remained in the race after rejection of three nomination during the scrutiny today.
District Election Officer-cum Deputy Commissioner Solan Manmohan Singh stated that 52 candidates remained in in the fray for Municipal Corporation Solan as papers of three candidate were rejected during the scrutiny. In Municipal Council Parwanoo 25 candidate are in the fray. , In MC Nalagarh 27 candidates, Nagar Panchayat Arki and Kandaghat 19 and 32 candidates respectively are in the fray.
