Shimla, May 23
Third (3rd) case of fatal mucormycosis was detected in a patient as victim was referred to IGMC hospital Shimla from Solan district on Sunday informes Senior Superintendent of IGMC Dr Janak Raj in a media bulletin. Dr Raj said that one patient with suspicious mucormycosis from Solan reported to IGMC hospital Shimla.
“Now we have three cases of mucormycosis incluiding two females and one male . He said that one female patient underwent surgical debridement of suspicious lesion. Biopsy reports are awaited.” he said in media bulliten issued here today.
He said that a woman from Arki of Solan district had been operated at IGMC in Saturday who was suffering symptoms of mucormycosis who is being clinically tested . The patient has undergone surgery and condition is reported to be stable .
This is the 3rd case of mucormycosis as first case was tested in a nCoV positive women patient on May 4, 2021 .
