Topping the voting chart this time Spiti division has recorded more than 81 per cent voting in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha by-election.
Out of total 8514 voters, 6701 voted which is 78.71 pc. This includes 3044 male and 3657 female voters. Apart from this, 21 home votes and 258 postal ballot votes were cast. Together (6701 + 21 + 258) it accounted for 81.98%.
This time 90.53% voting was done in Mud polling station of Spiti. Whereas the lowest voting of 69.95% was done in Key polling station.
ADC Rahul Jain said that in the last assembly elections, 77.91% voting was recorded in Spiti, whereas this time 81.98% voting has been recorded, which is about 4% more. The people of Spiti have shown a lot of enthusiasm in the elections this time. All the polling parties have left from their respective polling stations for the strong room set up in Kaza.
