Kullu, April 4
A bike-car collision and a bus overturning have caused one death and six injuries in the Kullu district on Tuesday, according to local authorities.
The first accident occurred in Banogi Tehsil, where a bike rider collided with an Alto car. The rider, identified as Sukh Ram from Bashing village in Kullu, died on the spot, while the car driver sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The accident took place due to the negligence of one of the drivers, as per the preliminary investigation.
In the second mishap, a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus overturned on the road at Patli Kuhal, near 15 Mile Sub Division Manali. The bus, which was on its way from Manali to Delhi, suffered a mechanical failure and skidded off the road, causing it to topple. Five persons, including the driver and conductor, received minor injuries and were taken to CHC Patli Kuhal for medical treatment.
The police have registered cases and started further investigations into the accidents.
“We urge all commuters to be careful while driving on the mountainous roads and follow traffic rules strictly to prevent such incidents,” said a senior police official.
