Mcleodganj in Himachal Pradesh bags ‘Emerging Mountain Destination’ award

Mcleodganj, a small hill town near Dharamshala in District Kangra has been awarded with “Best Emerging Mountain Destination” category award by a media house, in its Tourism Survey & Awards 2023, held at New Delhi on 29th February, 2024. An official spokesperson of Himachal Pradesh tourism department informed that the award of ‘Emerging Mountain Destination’ in Mountain Destinations category was presented by Lieutenant Governor, to the Director, Tourism & Civil Aviation, Manasi Sahay Thakur.
He said that the India Today Group conducts a survey through its readers from online voting . The survey started one & half month before the award function and the nominations related to destinations were taken from the States across the country. Among the nominations received, Mcleodganj was preferred as the best destination in its respective category category.
