Shimla, May 24
Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a fervent campaign trail in Himachal Pradesh, addressing two pivotal rallies aimed at galvanizing support for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). With the looming elections, Modi’s speeches in Mandi and Nahan highlighted the party’s vision for the state’s development, National security, and the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Mandi
The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as Prime Minister Modi addressed a massive sankalp rally in Mandi. The venue pulsated with enthusiasm as supporters gathered to hear Modi’s vision for the state and the nation.
Canvassing for Kangana Ranaut, Modi began by paying tribute to the people of Himachal Pradesh, hailing the state as the “sankalpa bhoomi” for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. He invoked sentiments of cultural pride, emphasizing the historic resolve taken in Himachal during a BJP working committee meeting in Palampur to build the temple. Modi rallied support for party candidate Kangana Ranaut, condemning the Congress for its disparaging remarks against her. He called upon the people to reject the Congress and ensure a victory for the BJP, asserting that only under their leadership would Himachal witness continued progress and prosperity.
Nahan
The Vijay Sankalp rally at Chaugan in Nahan witnessed Prime Minister Modi addressing a gathering brimming with fervor and determination. Against the backdrop of the picturesque landscape, Modi reiterated the BJP’s agenda for national security and robust governance.
Canvassing for Suresh Kashyap, Modi highlighted the strategic significance of Himachal Pradesh as a border state, emphasizing the need for a strong government to safeguard national interests. He contrasted the BJP’s resolute stance on national security with the Congress’s history of weak governance and appeasement politics. His speech also mentioned the Hatti reservation which was cleared during the NDA regime in 2022. Modi rallied support for party candidate Suresh Kashyap, urging the electorate to reject the opportunistic and divisive politics of the Congress-Indi alliance. He condemned the alliance’s disregard for constitutional norms and highlighted recent court rulings as evidence of their self-serving agenda.
Broadly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rallies in Mandi and Nahan encapsulated the BJP’s vision for Himachal Pradesh and the nation at large. With a focus on cultural pride, development, and national security, Modi galvanized supporters to ensure victory for the BJP in the upcoming elections.
