Shimla, July 30,
E-revenue services such as procurement of Himachali bonafide verification, etc have been paralyzed in Himachal Pradesh due to the ongoing strike by the state’s revenue officials. Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi held a crucial consultation on Monday with members of the Patwari and Kanungo Association regarding their strike, which has disrupted numerous revenue-related services and caused significant inconvenience to the public.
A spokesperson for the department stated that Minister Negi emphasized the majority of government services now fall under the state cadre. The government is committed to addressing the issues promptly to prevent further public inconvenience.
Meanwhile, Puspa, who applied for a Himachali certificate at Kandaghat tehsil, has been waiting for two weeks to get her final document verified by the concerned Patwari. According to Lok Mitra Kendra, the Patwari has not yet verified the claim made by the applicant.
During the meeting, Minister Negi reaffirmed the government’s dedication to the rights and development of state employees. He highlighted the reinstatement of the old pension scheme as a testament to this commitment, ensuring a dignified retired life and social security for employees.
The minister assured the delegation that their genuine demands, including salary-related issues, would be prioritized. He expressed the government’s intent to resolve these matters swiftly to restore normalcy in revenue services.
Director of Land Records and Consolidation of Holdings C.P. Verma and Additional Secretary of Revenue Balwan Chand were also present at the meeting, underscoring the administration’s serious approach to resolving the strike.
The government aims to balance the needs of its employees with the seamless delivery of services to the public.
It is noteworthy that all Patwaris and Kanungos are boycotting online work, alleging that the declaration of their services as state cadre would discriminate against them by requiring them to serve away from their district cadre.
